Description
This is a broad cross section of personal stories that encompasses the family of the BEBRF. Included are those with benign essential blepharospasm, Meige, hemifacial spasm, as well as those in remission. There are common threads throughout all the stories, like there are resemblances in a family. Yet, each story is unique. It is evident that the course of these disorders is not predictable. Some patients have more and different symptoms and impairment than others over similar periods of time. One of the most puzzling aspects of these disorders is that what is most helpful in the treatment of one patient is not always helpful for another. This challenges patients to find their own way with an experimental attitude of openness and flexibility.
